Meghan Markle has been cautioned against using the Royal Family as a backdrop for commercial promotion during her upcoming UK visit with husband, Prince Harry. Royal expert Richard Palmer highlighted the delicate timing required to balance business ventures with family reconciliation.
Royal Reunion Over PR
Speaking to the Mirror, Palmer said, “I can see one potential problem there, which is if Meghan is launching As Ever in the UK during a visit here. The King won’t want to be the backdrop or to be seen to be endorsing a commercial launch, so it will be important to consider the timing.”
The expert added that King Charles genuinely values his grandchildren and has expressed regret over past missed opportunities to spend time with them. “When they came over for Trooping the Colour during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, a senior source close to Charles stressed how wonderful it had been for him to see his grandchildren,” Palmer said.

Sandringham Tradition
Richard Palmer also provided insight into the family traditions at Sandringham. He explained that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip continued the role of the Queen Mother as Patron of the RHS Sandringham Flower Show, hosting house parties for friends during their annual week at Sandringham. Over the years, King Charles continued the tradition, inviting both old friends of the Royal Family and personal acquaintances such as Jools Holland and Lord Rothschild.
The Right Timing for Family Visits
Palmer suggests that it would be an ideal opportunity for Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children to visit a royal residence and spend quality time with the King and Queen Consort Camilla. “It would make perfect sense for Harry and Meghan and the children to go and stay at a royal residence with the King, if they’re hoping to try and build bridges,” he said.
While Meghan’s commercial ventures like As Ever are significant, experts advise that prioritizing family reunion could help mend ties within the Royal Family ahead of future engagements.
