Shaheen Afridi, Pakistan’s leading fast bowler, shared a picture on Tuesday with skipper Babar Azam on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, captioning it “family” after rumors of a dressing room verbal dispute between the two key players started circulating during the 2023 Asia Cup.

The rumors occurred after Pakistan was eliminated after a narrow last-ball defeat to Sri Lanka in an extremely competitive contest during the Asia Cup.

A heated verbal dispute happened between Babar and Shaheen during a post-match team meeting, according to a media report.

Media reports have reported that captain Babar Azam voiced dissatisfaction with the performances of some senior players, initiating Shaheen Shah Afridi to encourage Babar to praise the contributions of those who had played well. This conversation reportedly led to Mohammad Rizwan stepping in to negotiate the situation.

However, Shaheen’s recent post on social media seems to have set an end to these rumors. The photo shows Shaheen and Babar posing together, playing chess on a table, with the caption “family.”

Shaheen’s post has been well-beloved and praised by fans and media alike, with many people applauding him for dismissing the dispute rumors. It is worth mentioning that Shaheen’s wedding with ex-captain Shahid Afridi’s daughter is scheduled to take place on Tuesday in Karachi.
