Babar Azam is one of the finest and most talented Pakistan cricket ever produced. In the last edition, Babar Azam failed to qualify for the knockout as captain of Karachi Kings. Pakistan’s all-format captain can’t able to show his good consistency in the recent series. He also failed in Asia Cup 2022 and World T20 Cup 2022. But the question will Babar score his first-ever-PSL century in this edition as he leads Peshawar Zalmi?
Babar failed to lead the Karachi Kings team in PSL 7 as he was expected by fans. He leads Karachi Kings to the worst finish in PSL history. Throughout the season he won only one game against Lahore Qalandars out of 10 group matches. As Karachi Kings didn’t retain him and he is picked by Peshawar Zalmi as captain, Zalmi fans expect him to lift the second PSL title.
There is no doubt in stats that Babar is the most consistent run-scorers in T20 cricket over the past years. He is one of the most skillful and reliable batters in the all-format. He has scored 8,500 runs in 235 innings with an average of 43.61 in T20 cricket. Let’s back to PSL, he is currently the leading run-scorer in PSL history.
Despite his all achievements in PSL, he is yet to score his first-ever PSL century. As Babar is in now Peshawar Zalmi, he is expected to carry the majority of the burden of runs with his bat. If history repeats itself then you don’t need to be surprised that Babar Azam will finish off the tournament with a century in his name, and maybe as a winning captain.
