Kathy Griffin has added her voice to the growing chorus of criticism aimed at Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis for their support of convicted actor Danny Masterson and their defense of his character.
The comedian expressed her strong disapproval of Kutcher and Kunis mentioning their time working with Danny Masterson on ‘That ’70s Show’ in their pre-sentencing letter for Masterson, who faced serious charges, including rape and drugging women.
In a TikTok video, Kathy Griffin passionately conveyed her disagreement with the idea that Danny Masterson’s good behavior on set should overshadow the gravity of the allegations against him.
However, Griffin didn’t stop at criticizing the celebrity couple’s stance on Masterson. She also shared a personal story about her own attempts to report her late brother, Ken, for alleged wrongdoing involving children.
She took issue with Kutcher and Kunis defending their close friendship with Masterson, highlighting that her personal experiences had led her to take a different stance.
Griffin revealed that she had taken action when two of her brother’s girlfriends confided in her about alleged physical abuse. She reported her brother to the police twice, which resulted in a significant family rift and her being shunned for seeking justice for the victims.
Throughout her video message, the 62-year-old former Fashion Police co-host encouraged everyone to take action and “at least try” to do the right thing if they are aware of someone committing sexual assault. She concluded by underscoring that, in her case, family ties did not take precedence over the pursuit of justice and accountability.
