Prince William’s statement about Israel’s war in Gaza draws criticism

In a rare move, Prince William’s current statement insisting an end to ongoing conflicts in Gaza has sparked debate and drawn strong criticism from royal author Tom Bower.

Bower, known for his insights into the monarchy, issued a stern warning to the future king, warning against his involvement in such matters.

Describing the prince’s intervention as a “disaster,” Bower expressed dismay over what he deemed as ill-advised counsel received by Prince William. Speaking to GB News, Bower remarked, “I think he’s been very badly advised; I think it’s quite appalling.”

Bower’s sentiments were echoed as he continued, suggesting that the officials within Kensington Palace should have advised Prince William to refrain from intervening, as such actions could potentially exacerbate existing tensions.

“The Queen would never have said anything like this,” Bower asserted, indicating that even Prince Charles, known for his occasional forays into political commentary, would have exercised caution in such matters.

Critiquing Prince William’s involvement further, Bower emphasized the unnecessary politicization of the issue, stating, “Prince William should have been silent. Nobody needs his contribution on this issue, and by intervening, he has made the whole problem far worse.”

The royal biographer did not mince his words when expressing his disappointment in the prince’s advisers, suggesting that they failed to provide adequate guidance.

“I do honestly think that he has very, very poor advisers who should have said to him, Prince William, Your Highness, you don’t know enough about this subject. This isn’t where you should step,” Bower remarked.
